ಜೈಲಿನ ಕೋಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ... ** ಕೋಣೆ ಒ೦ದು : ಈ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪುಸ್ತಕವಿತ್ತು. ಕೇಳಿದೆ ನಾನು - "ಏನಿದು ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕ? ಯಾರೋ ಕೈದಿ ಓದಿ ಮರೆತು ಹೋಗಿರಬೇಕು..” ಜೈಲಧಿಕಾರಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ - "ಇಲ್ಲ.. ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬರೆದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು - ’ಒಂದೋ ನೀನು ಜೈಲಲ್ಲಿರಬೇಕು ಅಥವಾ ನೀನು ಬರೆದ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕ’ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ನಿಮಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಲ್ವಾ - ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ” ** ಕೋಣೆ ಎರಡು : ಈ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೊಂದು ಪಂಜರ ಅದರೊಳಗೊಂದು ಕಾಗೆ! ಕೇಳಿದೆ ನಾನು - “ಅರೆ ಈ ಕಾಗೆಯನ್ಯಾಕೆ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕುಕ್ಕಿ ಕುಕ್ಕಿ ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡಿತೆ?” ಜೈಲಧಿಕಾರಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ - “ಇಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಯಕ ಸುಖದ ನಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಒಡೆದು ಹೋದ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಾಗೆ ಕರ್ಕಶವಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ...” ನಿಮಗೀಗ ಅರ್ಥ ಆಗಿರಬಹುದು ಈ ದುರಂತದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೂ ಊರಿನ ಕೋಗಿಲೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಏಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಮಧುರವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡುತ್ತಿವೆ ಎಂದು! ** ಕೋಣೆ ಮೂರು : ಈ ಕೋಣೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ! ಒಂದು ವೇಷಭೂಷಣವನ್ನು ಹ್ಯಾಂಗರಿಗೆ ಜೋತು ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಕೇಳಿದೆ ನಾನು - “ಏನಿದರ ವಿಷಯ?” ಜೈಲಧಿಕಾರಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ - "ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಯಕನ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವೇಷವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಯಾರೋ ದಾವೆ ಹೂಡಿದ್ದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಪರ ವಕೀಲ ’ಆ ಭಾಷಣವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ವೇಷದ ಪ್ರಭಾವ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ವೇಷಕ್ಕಷ್ಟೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ವಾದಿಸಿ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ವೇಷ ಈಗ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ! ** ಕೋಣೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು : ಈ ಕೋಣೆಯ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಅಂಕೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗೀಚಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದೆ – “ಏನಿದರ ಮರ್ಮ?” ಜೈಲಧಿಕಾರಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ - “ಇವು ಬರೀ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಕಲಮ್ಮುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಲ್ಲ.. ಕಾನೂನನ್ನು ಕೈಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಅಪರಾಧವೆಂದು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಜನರ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಗದಂತೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾನೂನುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ!" ** ಕೊನೆಯ ಕೋಣೆ : ಅರೆ ಈ ಕೋಣೆ ಖಾಲಿ! ದಿಗ್ಭ್ರಮೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದೆ ನಾನು - "ಈ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಅತಿ ಕ್ರೂರಿ ಕೊಲೆಗಡುಕ ಅಪರಾಧಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿ?” ಜೈಲಧಿಕಾರಿ ನಗುತ್ತಾ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ - “ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ವಾ? ಅವನು ಈಗಗಲೇ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡು ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ.. ನೀನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಜೈಲೊಳಗೆ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಬಂದ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆತ ಮತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿರಬಹುದು.. *** ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ಕಟೀಲ್ In prison cells... *** Cell one: A book was lying inside the room I asked - "Why is this book lying over here? Some prisoner must have read and forgotten to take it with him.” The jailer replied – "No. To the great writer who wrote this book A choice was given – You should either be in jail Or this book you wrote” The writer handed over this book to us You know very well ‘Litterateur always likes freedom.’ *** Cell two: Inside this room there is a cage And a crow in it! I asked - “Why did you put this crow over here? Has it murdered someone?” The jailer replied – “No, when our leader was floating in the intoxication of happiness This crow was crowing hoarsely For its cracked egg So it was arrested...” You may have understood now Why are the cuckoos in the town Singing so sweetly even in this bad time! *** Cell three: This cell is still strange! A dress was hung on a hanger I asked - "What’s the news about this dress?" The jailer replied – "There was hatred in our leader's speech And someone had filed a case against him. Our lawyer advocated ‘All that speech is because of the influence of this dress. So it should be punished” Just because he argued and won the case This costume is now being punished. *** Cell four: On the wall of this cell Some numbers were scratched. I curiously asked – "What is the secret of this?" The jailer replied – “These are not just numbers but articles of the constitution. You know that Taking the law into one's hands is a crime. So only we have jailed some laws over here To ensure that they are not reachable for the common people!" *** Last cell: Oh, this room is empty! Bewildered I asked - “Where is the most brutal murderous criminal who was supposed to be in this cell?” The jailer smiled and replied - “You know? He is now released He is currently in the election campaign.
