ಹುಲ್ಲು

 

Grass I am grass I shall grow in every part of your world Even if you throw bombs in universities and transform hostels into heaps of debris even if you demolish the roofs over our heads what will you do to me? I am but the grass, I shall envelop everything and grow on each heap. Make Banga a heap of waste erase Sangrur from the maps annihilate the district of Ludhiana but my verdure will accomplish its task… In two years, ten years passengers will ask the conductor— “Which place is this? ಹುಲ್ಲು ನಾನು ಹುಲ್ಲು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಯಾವ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಬೆಳೆಯಬಲ್ಲವವನು ನೀವು ಯೂನಿವರ್ಷಿಟಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಂಬ್ ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಹಾಸ್ಟೇಲ್‍ಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಶೇಷಗಳ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಿದರೂ ನಾವು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿದರೂ ನೀವು ನನಗೇನು ಮಾಡಲಾರರಿ! ನಾನು ಹುಲ್ಲು ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಆವರಿಸುವಂಥವನು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿ ರಾಶಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಬರುವಂಥವನು   ಬಂಗಾವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಗ್ರೂರ್‍ನ್ನು ನಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಅಳಿಸಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಲುಧಿಯಾನ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ವನಾಶ ಮಾಡಿ ನಾನು ಹುಲ್ಲು-ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಹುಟ್ಟುವವನು ಪಸರಿಸುವಂಥವನು ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವಾ, ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಕಂಡಕ್ಟರ್‍ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ— ಇದು ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಳ ಎಂದು? ನಾನು ಹುಲ್ಲು- ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಆವರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂಥವನು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ  ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲೂ ಪಸರಿಸುವಂಥವನು     ಮೂಲ ಅಸ್ಸಾಮಿ: ಅವತಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸಂಧು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷಗೆ: ಬಿಸ್ವಜೀತ್ ಬೋರಾ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ: ಉದಯ ಇಟಗಿ
